Ufford Garden

New build garden starting life as a sloped lawn, trasformed into a riot of colour and interest. The cedar fence creates amazing privacy and a beautifully warm backdrop to the colours and textures of the planting. Multiple seating opportunities are created for socialising, midday shade and quiet reading. A winding Breedon gravel path creates a feeling of space within the small area. The planting's main focus is on summer colour with Geum 'Totally Tangerine', Wallflowers and Foxgloves stealing the show.

Woodbridge Garden

A beautiful listed town house needing an updated refresh. The brief requested a sleek, neutral palette to the hard landscaping and soft airy planting. The level changes in the garden were emphasised with raised beds at various heights to frame the formal lawn, progressing to a sunken seating area covered by a cedar pergola complementing the cedar framed greenhouse. Planting inlcuded Persicaria affinis 'Donald Lowndes' , Phlomis russeliana, Cosmos 'Chocolate Cherry', Pennisetum hameln, Acer 'Bloodgood', and Pittopsorum 'Tom Thumb'.

Orford Garden

This site has such a stunning outlook it needed a garden to match. The first layer of seating is a composite Millboard deck spilling out from the house providing a viewing platform out over to the coastline. A path then leads to partially sunken, inbuilt bench wih a curved rendered wall painted in an earthy limewash. A firepit completes the setup to create a cosier feel in the evenings. The planting has to contend with coastal winds and hot dry conditions so includes Rosemary, Salvias, Eryngium, Verbena, Lavender and Phillyrea angustifolia.

Sudbourne Garden

A brilliant opportunity to work with a gorgeous walled garden was too good to miss. The client fancied a gravel garden to the rear which was a bold choice and I think it worked out so well with the drama of the large victorian wall. The planting areas are expansive but due to the spacings between plantings and walkway areas the garden still feels open and inviting. The wall could not have anything fixed against it so we looked to achieve height within the garden space with tiered planting that follows a rhythm throughout the garden. Structured planting included Panicum ' Northwind', Agapanthus, Yew cones, and flowering cherry trees.
